Volunteers Needed

The Events Committee of the WACC Board is seeking an event planner to assist with 1, 2, or all 3 of our events held throughout the year. Pancakes for Prevention Breakfast in the Spring, Strides Against Abuse 5 K Run/Walk in the summer, and a signature fall event Cheers for Children with a theme determined each year. There is a committee of volunteers and the Board of Directors that are committed to helping make these events happen, we would benefit from someone with event planning skills to lead the charge. Please call our office, at 734-434-4215 or email info@washtenawchildren.org for more information.

You Can Make A Difference

In any community, even one child being subject to abuse or neglect is simply unacceptable. Sadly, child abuse and neglect affects thousands across our county. Our specialty is meeting children, youth, and adults on-site, and providing education before abuse or neglect happens. We educate before a child can become a statistic.

You have the ability to aid us on our mission. Whether you can give time, talent, or treasure, you have something special to offer. You have a way to help. Check out the ways you can contribute below to see how you can advocate for children in Washtenaw County.

Donate

Your donation, no matter how small, could help a seventh grade student in Ypsilanti learn how to avoid online predators. It could help a four-year-old in Saline relaize they need to tell someone about the adult that touches them inappropriately. These donations could teach best practices to dozens of educators, social workers, and parents county-wide.

Do your part to make child abuse and neglect a relic instead of a reality.

Don't have the resources to donate at the moment? We also accept in-kind donations and would happily accept laptops, desktop computers, and office supplies!

Volunteer

Work one-on-one with a middle school student as they learn valuable technology-based skills during our summer camp, help us orchestrate our beloved Cheers for Children Tailgate, or donate your valuable technical expertise to our team. No matter your passion, there's rewarding, important work to be done at Washtenaw Area Council for Children.

Find out how your talents can help our community!
